Know all men by these presents, that we, Anasuaris Menellis, Aron Daniels Caleb Beck being three of the . . . trustees and Atorneys for the Township of Schenectady in the County of Albany in the Province of New York do at this time Nominate Constitute and apoint Mr. Charles Hanson and Mr. Garrit van Brakle of the same place two other of the same trustees and attorneys for the said township as will appear by a power of attorney signed sealed and delivered by the freeholders and habitants of said township as will appear by a power of attorney signed, sealed and delivered by the freeholders and habitants of said township leaving both ....... this tenth day of June, 1713 or any one of them to be our Lawful attorney for us and in our place, and stead and in our names for the behoofe of the above said township of Schenectady to ask demand and persecute (?) He seems to have had to pay two hundred pounds New York currency to Schermerhorne

LOCATION OF THE FIRST REFORMED CHURCH OF SCHENECTADY. IT SHOULD BE READ CAREFULLY.Since this seems to be an especially important document, it is described in greater detail than previous documents.

William James of Albany tried to sell this property to John and James Fitzgerald, Rotterdam, 29 December 1819 but they didn't pay. So in 1826 he sells it to Alonzo C. Paige. For reasons which are unclear, Paige sells the land back to James on the eighth of April, 1826.

In pencil on the outside of the deed is this statement: " Defective--a foreclosure under the statute. Mr. James omitted releasing to Paige - but Paige released to him."
